In fact, just before looking up this subject, i was thinking of scanning it and offering it to some friends. The page is 3-hole punched. I removed it from a Hallicrafters catalog binder date 1964 as supplied to retailers, radio shops selling such equipment. However, my judgement is this: the Halli address is very "faded out" in the image and there are a couple horizontal lines below the "address" that i guess are intended to someway replicate additional lines on a legitimate Hallicrafters ad. So my take is, this was executed by someone along the wholesaling chain, not Hallicrafters. Hallicrafters or any other manufacturer also would never use mildly offensive language like this. So yes, this is a "faked" ad but it was sent out to retailers by "someone", it does exist. The old gal still needs a lot of work, but I have been too busy with the local radio club to jump into the project with both feet. God willing, I'll get her back into better-than-new condition. Thanks for the great post, Rich.
73, Kyle W4KDAAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5322605315216870710.post-26120418953157065742013-04-27T16:16:17.425-07:002013-04-27T16:16:17.425-07:00Hi, Rich.

I'd listen to Radio Havana Cuba in the evenings when signals would start pouring in from the Caribbean. I always remember hearing the Cuban national anthem and a program called The Life Of Our Workers. The S-120 showed up shortly after I took a jolt from the S-38 and Dad decided to junk it before any more damage was done. Thanks for the memories!

73, Jim KA9VHGJim, KA9VHGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07700708867207401826noreply@blogger.com
